The Portland office of the National Weather Service issued a Flood Watch for much of Northwest Oregon, including Forest Grove. The watch is in effect through late Tuesday night. A Wind Advisory runs from noon Monday through 4 a.m. Tuesday.
A motorist drove their vehicle into the flooded roadway before county crews could put the gates up on Fern Hill Road and ended up in need of rescue. Fern Hill Road is now closed.
For the first time this season, the gates at Fern Hill Road are up, blocking access to a popular route for Forest Grove commuters trying to get to the east side of the county.
