Forest Grove Fire & Rescue, police respond to dumpster and brush fire at Bi-Mart

A trailer parked at a Bi-Mart loading dock was scorched by fire, and nearby brush and a dumpster was in flames Wednesday night, a spokesperson for Forest Grove Fire & Rescue told News in the Grove.
The fire was totally out, according to Forest Grove Fire & Rescue spokesperson Dave Nemeyer.
It was not yet clear where or how the fire started, but fire crews and the Forest Grove Police Department were on scene investigating.
While a trailer was scorched, the main casualty of the fire appeared to be a scorched dumpster and nearby landscaping.
An initial statement by FGF&R that the trailer was destroyed was not accurate, according to store staff, a Forest Grove Police Department officer on-scene, an eyewitness report, and a site visit by this News in the Grove reporter.
A fire on Dec. 26, 2024 also damaged a trailer parked at the same loading dock at Bi-Mart.
Crews from Forest Grove Fire & Rescue and Cornelius Fire Department were on scene, as were officers with the Forest Grove Police Department. Banks Fire District firefighters staffed the Forest Grove Fire Station while crews responded to the fire.

This is a developing story that may be updated as further information becomes confirmed.
